CC410 10G Ethernet MAC
The CC410 10 Gigabit Ethernet MAC core, implements full duplex Media Access Protocol with integrated Reconciliation Sublayer (RS) functionalities as proposed by the IEEE 802.3ae task force draft 4.1. CC410 supports an XGMII Interface on the PHY side while a simple FIFO interface is provided on the host side. CC410 connects directly to Conexant's network processing Decathlon device. The core implements full duplex flow control using the PAUSE operation. CC410 supports Virtual LAN (VLAN) tagged frames. When using the MAC with WAN PHYs, the LAN - WAN speed difference is handled using the open loop rate control mechanism (IPG stretching), as proposed in IEEE 802.3ae task force draft 4.1. Optimum data throughput in LAN applications is achieved by maintaining an average IPG period equal to the minimum IPG required using the Deficit Idle Count (DIC), method proposed in draft 4.1. CC410 supports a programmable jumbo frame size of up to 16 Kbytes. It also supports Link Fault Signaling (LFS) as proposed by IEEE 802.3ae task force draft 4.1, clause 46.
