SELLS NETPLANE SYSTEMS TO
MOTOROLA COMPUTER GROUP
NEWPORT
BEACH, Calif., Feb. 3, 2003 - Conexant Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:
CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor system solutions for
communications applications, today announced that it has completed
the sale of NetPlane Systems, Inc. to the Motorola Computer Group,
a business unit of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT). NetPlane Systems,
located in Westborough, Mass., develops specialized networking
protocol software. NetPlane had been a part of Mindspeed Technologies™,
Conexant’s Internet infrastructure business. All 62 NetPlane
employees were offered positions with Motorola. Other terms of
the transaction were not announced.
